About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The Sangiovese fruit comes from the Merganser vineyard.

Vinification

Traditional fermentation takes place on the skins in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks for 10–15 days.

Ageing

The wine matures for around four months in the same stainless-steel tanks.

Tasting profile

The aroma is concentrated, while the palate is fresh and balanced, with notes of juicy red fruit.

Label / history

After Francesco Angelini acquired Fazi Battaglia, he set out to create a red wine associated with the Marche region. Developed through years of experimentation, Rutilus was introduced around 30 years ago. It received a silver medal at the Tasters Guild International Wine Judging and a bronze medal at the International Wine & Spirits Competition in 2002, followed by a bronze medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards in 2004.
