About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from the historic "Rancia" vineyard, next to the estate of the same name, at 400 metres above sea level.

Vinification

The grapes are destemmed and pressed, then fermented at 28–30 °C with automated daily punch-downs.

Ageing

The wine ages in small oak barrels for 12–18 months. After bottling it rests a further 6–10 months in the winery's cellars.

Tasting profile

Beautifully balanced and refined, with a remarkably delicate, silky texture. It needs time to open up fully.

Label / history

The name Felsina dates back to Etruscan times. It evokes space in harmony with light, the aromas of the earth, a gentle breeze, the changing seasons and the quiet of the night. Fattoria di Felsina has long held to balance and to expressing the essence of both the grape variety and the place where it grows. Its wines are known for an aristocratic character and elegance. In 2005 the estate received the "Oscar of Wine for the Best Winery" award from the Associazione Italiana Sommeliers.
