About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards lie around the village of Monte Tenda Castalunga at 125 metres above sea level, on red volcanic soils rich in iron oxide. The vines average 30 years old, with some reaching 70 years.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested from late September to early October, then destemmed, gently pressed and lightly clarified. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at 15–17 °C for 8–10 days.
Ageing
The wine rests on its lees until bottling at the end of March.
Label / history
The name “Monte de Toni” honours the vineyards’ previous owner, who cared for the land before the Tessari family.
