Il Castellaccio

The centuries-old olive groves and vineyards of the Podere il Castellaccio estate have been restored and supplemented with new plantings. The winery describes this as making the company dynamic and open to new markets.

The estate lies along the Etruscan Coast, in the Livorno Maremma. Nearby, the medieval village of Castagneto Carducci sits on a hilltop overlooking the countryside and the sea. Podere il Castellaccio is on Segalari hill. Giant pine trees have grown along the coast for hundreds of years; they stand up to the frequent sea winds and help preserve the local microclimate.

The winery states that its wines are made according to principles that bring together the history, traditions and natural character of the terroir.
