About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow in the western part of Venezia Giulia, mainly on marl and sandy soils.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in September. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks. Part of the wine ferments in contact with the skins to extract aromatic compounds and emphasize its fresh character.
Ageing
The wine rests on its lees in stainless steel tanks for around 10 months, followed by several months in bottle.
Tasting profile
Fresh and velvety, with lively aromas, elegant fruit and subtle mineral notes. The palate is well balanced.
Serving and pairing
Pairs especially well with seafood, vegetables and fish.
Label / history
The first vintage was released in 1996. “Afix” comes from “Aloyz Felix,” the shortened name of Silvio Jermann’s youngest son. The wine is released exclusively under screw cap to preserve its aromas and sensory qualities.
