About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The Lagrein comes from selected vineyards in the hills of Unterland, South Tyrol, on porphyry soils.

Vinification

The grapes are thoroughly destemmed and pressed. The must is gently transferred to stainless steel tanks for fermentation. Malolactic fermentation takes place in wooden barrels.

Ageing

The wine matures for 12 months in wooden barrels, with frequent stirring of the fine lees. It is bottled in January and aged in bottle until the end of the year.

Tasting profile

Full-bodied and concentrated, with spicy, earthy notes. Its elegance becomes more noticeable as the wine matures. The character is distinctly South Tyrolean.

Serving and pairing

Red meat, game and cheese.
