About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Sangiovese comes from a 5.5 ha vineyard in Tuscany with clay-limestone soils. The vines are 17–20 years old and are cultivated organically.
Grapes
Depending on the vintage, the wine may include a small proportion of other red grapes, such as Cabernet Franc, Canaiolo or Alicante.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness and pressed directly at the winery. Fermentation begins spontaneously with native yeasts in stainless-steel tanks. Organic cellar practices and minimal intervention are employed throughout. The wine is bottled without filtration or fining, with no added sulfites.
Ageing
The wine matures partly in stainless-steel tanks and partly in old barriques.
Label / history
The wine is produced by Domaine de' Cocci Rotti, which is owned by the La Ginestra cooperative.
