About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The description places the Merlot vineyards in Veneto and Friuli and notes the variety’s long history in Veneto.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness. Fermentation takes place on the skins for 12–15 days at a controlled 26–28 °C, with frequent pumping over. This is followed by 30 days of micro-oxygenation and malolactic fermentation.

Ageing

After malolactic fermentation, the wine rests before bottling. If necessary, it is blended with a small proportion of wine aged in barriques.

Tasting profile

The wine has velvety tannins.

Vintage notes

In Veneto, the 2020 growing season began slightly earlier than usual. Flowering and fruit set proceeded without problems. Moderate temperatures and optimal rainfall from March through July provided favourable conditions. Temperatures increased in July and early August, while heavy rain and light hail caused occasional difficulties. The grapes nevertheless remained healthy, with normal sugar and acidity levels.

Label / history

Lamberti was founded in 1964 in Lazise, Veneto. The winery takes its name from the Lamberti family estate, one of the area’s oldest families.
