About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow in clay and sandy soils in the Barberino Val d’Elsa area, at 270 m above sea level. The vines were planted in 1961 and 1986.
Grapes
The wine is made from selected grapes.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand into crates at optimal ripeness, usually in early September. Vinification takes place without temperature control in an 800 L “Impruneta” terracotta amphora. The must ferments on the skins and undergoes extended maceration.
Ageing
The wine rests on its lees for one month, followed by a further three months in bottle.
