About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from several vineyards in Colli Orientali del Friuli and is harvested at full ripeness.
Vinification
The grapes macerate for 20 days in wooden vats and open conical barrels. During the first two days, manual punch-downs, délestage and pump-overs are alternated. Malolactic fermentation takes place in new oak barrels.
Ageing
The wine ages in new oak barrels for 16–18 months, followed by a further 12 months in bottle.

Rich, powerful and elegant, with complexity.
Label / history
The name “Il Re Fosco” is a play on words: “Re” means “king” in Italian.
