About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Gaglioppo is grown on the Rosaneti estate, which extends between Rocca di Neto and Casabona in Calabria. The vineyards have clay and limestone soils, spurred-cordon training and a planting density of 5,000 vines per hectare. Yields are 80 quintals of grapes and 52 hectolitres of wine per hectare.
Grapes
100% Gaglioppo.
Vinification
Whole bunches are gently pressed and the base wine is made in stainless steel. Secondary fermentation follows the traditional method.
Ageing
After maturation in stainless steel, tirage takes place in April. The wine remains on its lees for 24 months.
Tasting profile
A brut rosé traditional-method sparkling wine presented through the character and strength of Calabrian bubbles.
Label / history
The wine takes its name from the Rosaneti estate. Rosaneti literally means “rose of the Neto,” referring to the river that cuts through the valley of the same name.
Vintage notes
The harvest timing differs between the two current presentations: the wine page gives the first ten-day period of September, while the technical sheet gives the second ten-day period.
