About this wine
Grapes
100% Foglia Tonda, a historic Tuscan variety recorded by Giuseppe Di Rovasenda in 1877 in vineyards near Castello di Brolio at Gaiole in Chianti. Breviglieri and Casini later documented Foglia Tonda in the Arceno area in 1964. After becoming sparsely planted, the variety entered a period of renewed cultivation following encouraging experimental results. It is registered in Italy’s national catalogue of vine varieties and approved for cultivation in Tuscany.
Tasting profile
The experimental 2005 wine is robust and ruby-coloured, with a pleasant aromatic character and the capacity to age.
