About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The vineyards are situated in San Floriano, Oslavia and Cormòns within the Collio DOC. The hilly terrain formed during the Eocene and consists of sandstone and loam rock, including limestone and clay. The impermeable soil allows rainwater to run across the surface, limiting erosion and preventing stagnant water. The vines are trained to Guyot.

Grapes

Sauvignon.

Vinification

The grapes are picked by hand and destemmed. The must and pulp undergo cold maceration, followed by gentle pressing to separate the juice from the skins. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks.

Ageing

The wine refines on the lees for six months before bottling and then rests for several additional months in bottle.

Technical data

Available in 0.375 L and 0.75 L bottles. Alcohol is stated as approximately 12% on the wine page and approximately 13% in the technical sheet.

Tasting profile

Golden yellow with green highlights. The bouquet is intense and fresh, with notes of sage, pepper and elderberry. A lively acidic impression reinforces freshness and sapidity on the palate, which is balanced and well structured.

Label / history

Sandis is a name of Friulian origin meaning “without speaking,” expressing the idea of a wine capable of communicating its character without words.
