About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from the estate’s own vineyards in the Barbaresco area, northeast of Alba and close to the Tanaro River.

Vinification

The grapes are destemmed and pressed. The must ferments on the skins for 21 days in stainless-steel vats, using native yeasts at a controlled temperature no higher than 30 °C. The wine is then filtered and transferred to 500 L oak barrels for malolactic fermentation.

Ageing

The 2020 vintage spent 23 months in oak barrels. After further filtration, it was bottled in September 2022 and matured for another six months in bottle at a constant 14 °C.

Tasting profile

Powerful and serious yet approachable and elegant, the 2020 has structure, longevity and excellent acidity, which heightens its aromatic character.

Vintage notes

The 2020 growing season was mild and balanced. Winter brought good rainfall, spring was fairly dry and mild, and summer passed without major difficulties. The grapes ripened in ideal conditions.

Label / history

Production of the 2020 vintage was limited to 14,902 bottles.
