About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from Sicilian vineyards with well-structured clay soils.

Grapes

The grapes are selected, and Nero d'Avola is also known as Calabrese.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness during the first ten days of September. Traditional red-wine vinification is used, with fermentation at a strictly controlled temperature to preserve the wine’s rich, fruity character.

Tasting profile

Pleasantly fruity on both the nose and palate.

Serving and pairing

Pairs with roast or grilled meat, game, pasta and mature cheeses.

Label / history

Morando was founded in the late nineteenth century to preserve Piedmont’s winemaking traditions.
