About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards extend across a 50-metre-high hill south of Magrè, at 220–250 metres above sea level. The ground consists of stratified grey clay sand with a high proportion of clay. The Mediterranean climate is shaped by hot summers, mild winters and the Ora, the warm afternoon wind arriving from Lake Garda.
Grapes
100% Pinot Grigio.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand. The clarified must ferments for approximately three weeks in stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The young wine matures on its lees for another five months before bottling.
Tasting profile
Pale straw yellow with good colour depth. The precise nose combines dried apricot, pink grapefruit and thyme with a distinctly mineral, iodine-like undertone. The palate is compact and harmonious, with clearly defined supporting acidity and a mineral finish.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 10–12 °C with whipped salt cod or sardines in saor. Store at 10–13 °C with at least 60% relative humidity.
