About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The vineyards lie in the Bassa Atesina at the foot of Monte Roen, between 350 and 550 m, with south-east exposure. Calcareous soils are mixed with clay gravel. The Mediterranean climate brings hot summers and mild winters, while the Ora arrives as a warm afternoon wind from Lake Garda.

Grapes

100% Gewürztraminer.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand. The clarified must ferments at low temperature for approximately three weeks in stainless-steel tanks.

Ageing

The young wine matures on its lees for a further seven months.

Technical data

Alto Adige DOC. Recommended storage conditions are 10–13 °C and at least 60% humidity.

Tasting profile

Bright golden yellow with good depth. The rich, complex bouquet combines chinotto and lychee with a trace of rosemary. The palate is rounded, crisp and savoury, with a persistent finish.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 10–12 °C. Suggested pairings include chicken curry, shellfish tempura and Venetian moeche crabs when in season.
