About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards occupy gentle slopes around Magrè at 220–350 m, facing south and south-east. White chalky gravel soils contain well-ventilated humus. The Mediterranean climate brings hot summers, mild winters and the Ora, the warm afternoon wind from Lake Garda.
Grapes
Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully destemmed. The must ferments in stainless-steel tanks with gentle pumping over.
Ageing
Twelve months in barriques.
Tasting profile
Bold, very dense ruby red. The aroma combines maraschino cherries and blueberries with an undertone of fresh pepper leaves. Full-bodied, balanced and juicy on the palate, with savoury tannins and a persistent finish.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 16–18 °C with braised beef cheeks or roast chicken. Store at 10–13 °C in a cool place with at least 60% humidity.
