About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the Bettolotti vineyard in the heart of the Langhe, planted in 1990. The vineyards lie at 230 to 270 metres above sea level. The soils are rich in pebbles, marl and red clay, which give the wine its distinctive, recognisable style.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place on the skins for 8–12 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation follows.
Ageing
The wine ages for 12 months in French oak barrels (225 L) and German oak barrels (2,500 L), giving a balanced mix of fruit and oak notes.
Tasting profile
Red fruit, ripe plum and jasmine are the signature notes. Fruit and oak are balanced.
