About this wine
Vinification
The Nebbiolo grapes are gently crushed and undergo brief skin contact. After draining, the juice ferments in stainless-steel vats. Following alcoholic fermentation, the wine settles for at least 15 days before undergoing malolactic fermentation in cement vats.
Ageing
The wine ages on its lees for four months, followed by around one month in bottle in the winery’s cellars before release.
Tasting profile
Delicate and fresh, with layered fruit flavours. The 2019 balances sweet notes of ripe red fruit with refreshing citrus tones. Exposure to air after opening reveals more generous fruit and noticeable sweetness.
Serving and pairing
Allowing the wine some air after opening is recommended.
Vintage notes
In Piedmont, the 2019 growing season began with a cold, wet spring that slowed vine growth and brought a risk of disease. The rain also replenished groundwater reserves needed during the summer. Hot, dry conditions prevailed from June through August, interrupted by severe hail. Warm days and cool nights continued into September, allowing steady development of phenolic ripeness while preserving freshness and acidity. Heavy hail in September substantially reduced yields in some plots.
