About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Valferana vineyard is in Piedmont at 320 m above sea level.
Grapes
Produced only in successful years with exceptionally high-quality harvests, using grapes selected from the vineyard’s best vines.
Vinification
The grapes are gently pressed and crushed, then fermented in conical oak vats and cement tanks. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine remains on the skins for 20 days.
Ageing
The wine matures for at least four years in large oak vats, followed by a short period in cement tanks and a further 6–12 months in bottle before release.
Label / history
The wine takes its name from the Valferana vineyard.
