About this wine

Grapes

Corvina forms the basis of the blend, complemented by other red varieties.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand and air-dried outdoors from October until January. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks, with ten days of maceration.

Ageing

The wine matures for approximately three years in large Slavonian oak casks and French barriques.

Label / history

According to legend, the Ottella name dates from the 16th century, as indicated by a coat of arms preserved in the estate’s courtyard. G. B. Perez’s La provincia di Verona ed i suoi vini (The Province of Verona and Its Wines), published in 1900, records that in the 16th century the winery was known as Verona’s only producer.
