Grapes
The blend varies by vintage. In 2011, it comprised equal proportions of Nebbiolo and Barbera.
Vinification
Fermentation on the skins takes place for 8–9 days in stainless-steel rotary fermenters at a controlled temperature.
Ageing
The wine matures for 12 months in French oak barriques.
Tasting profile
In its early years, Barbera leads the wine’s character; the more reserved Nebbiolo gains strength over time.
Label / history
Created jointly by Giovanni and Silvano Pellissero, the wine is produced only in selected vintages.
