About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from the Serra vineyard in the commune of Neive. The vines were planted in 1986 and 1996 on calcareous clay soils, at a density of 5,000 vines per hectare.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested in September. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel rotary fermenters, with the must remaining for 8–9 days at 28–30 °C. The wine is bottled without filtration to preserve its flavour and aroma.

Ageing

The wine ages for 18 months in Slavonian oak barrels.

Serving and pairing

Decant for 1–2 hours before serving.

Vintage notes

The 2009 growing season was warm, allowing the grapes to reach full ripeness.

Label / history

Serra has been produced by every generation of the Paitin family.
