About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The 1.5 ha vineyard lies in the first inland hills of the Costa d’Argento, facing the Argentario promontory and adjoining the Maremma Natural Park. It sits at an average elevation of 150 m with southern exposure. The deep, medium-textured soil is volcanic in origin and contributes structure and fruit. The vines are 15 years old, planted at 5,000 vines per hectare and trained to spurred cordon. Average yield is 1.5 kg per vine.

Grapes

Vermentino.

Vinification

Harvest takes place in mid-September.

Ageing

Maturation takes place in stainless steel, followed by three months in bottle.

Tasting profile

Straw yellow. Peach and rosemary-flower aromas lead into a fine, elegant palate with the floral and fruity character of Vermentino. Pronounced savouriness is balanced by freshness and vivacity.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 8–10°C. Pair with appetizers, raw or cooked fish, white meats and medium-aged cheeses.
