About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from certified organic estate vineyards planted on terraces in the eastern hills of Friuli, at approximately 150 metres above sea level.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand relatively late, with only healthy, ripe fruit selected. Extended skin contact takes place in truncated-cone oak vats without temperature control, with regular punch-downs. This prolonged maceration produces the wine’s copper hue. The juice is then separated from the skins by gentle pressing. The wine is bottled during the waning moon, following the lunar calendar, without fining or filtration.
Ageing
The wine rests on its fine lees in 30-hectolitre Slavonian oak barrels for 11 months, with bâtonnage every three days, followed by a further 12 months in the same barrels. Natural sediment remains in the bottle and helps the wine age for longer.
Tasting profile
Highly expressive, with rich fruit notes on both the nose and palate.
Label / history
The original label depicts a young acrobat.
