About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from the estate's certified organic vineyards in the eastern hills of Friuli. The vines are planted on terraces at around 150 metres above sea level.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand, fairly late in the season, and only healthy, ripe fruit is selected. They macerate on their skins for 28 days in truncated-cone-shaped oak vats, without temperature control. This long skin contact gives the wine its copper colour. The juice is then separated from the skins by gentle pressing.
Ageing
The wine ages on its fine lees for 23 months in 25-hectolitre Slavonian oak barrels. It is bottled in August or September during the waning moon, following the lunar calendar, without fining or filtration. Natural sediment in the bottle reflects the wine's natural character and helps it keep for longer.
Tasting profile
A natural, young and fruity orange wine with a pleasant hint of bitterness. The colour is copper.
