About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The high-sugar grapes come from very old, Guyot-trained vineyards. The local volcanic soils are rich in potassium, calcium, magnesium and phosphorus, and low in nitrogen. The climate is fairly mild, with winters that are not excessively cold and cool sea breezes that moderate the summer heat. Rainfall is limited and falls mainly in spring.
Vinification
Vinification and bottling take place at the estate.
Label / history
The wine has been made since ancient times. Its name recalls the local custom of drinking Frascati “a cannella,” meaning straight from the barrels.
