About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from San Silvestro’s vineyards in the Ghercina area of Novello, beside Lake Ghercina. The site and variety express the estate’s connection with its home village.

Grapes

100% Nas-cëtta, a semi-aromatic white variety indigenous to Novello.

Vinification

The grapes are selectively harvested by hand and softly pressed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel at controlled temperature.

Ageing

Refined for five months on noble lees in stainless-steel tanks.

Tasting profile

Deep yellow in color. Acacia-blossom and other vegetal aromas meet fresh citrus notes. The palate is zesty and distinctly mineral.

Serving and pairing

Suitable as an aperitif and with fresh vegetable appetizers, delicate pasta, sushi and shellfish. Cellar life is 2–3 years.

Label / history

Known as Nascetta or “Nas-cëtta” in the Piedmontese dialect, the variety was once nearly abandoned because of irregular production. Producers from Novello began reviving it in the 1990s after tasting old bottles, replanting vineyards and restoring the wine. In 2010 it received the Langhe D.O.C. Nas-cëtta del Comune di Novello appellation.
