About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards lie in the municipality of Mezzane di Sotto, at around 300 m above sea level. The climate is dry and the soils are poor, mainly clay with a small amount of limestone.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and gently pressed in a pneumatic press. Fermentation with selected yeasts takes place at a controlled temperature and lasts 8–10 days. Malolactic fermentation is carried out with the wine kept on its lees, which are stirred with a special mixer every 10 days.
Ageing
The wine is aged in stainless-steel tanks for 4–6 months.
Label / history
Nanfrè is a modern take on Valpolicella Classico. It keeps the distinctive character of its terroir while being made for today's wine drinker.
