About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from vineyards south of Lake Garda.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and pressed immediately. Cold skin maceration produces a rich, clean must, which is fermented at a controlled low temperature.
Ageing
The wine ages in stainless-steel tanks. It is bottled in February and then given additional time to mature.
Tasting profile
Restrained and refined, with a delicate aroma and an elegant, fresh, mineral palate.
Vintage notes
In 2010, spring arrived late and remained fairly cool. A warm summer and rainy August accelerated ripening, while a dry, cool September improved conditions. The contrast between daytime and nighttime temperatures helped the grapes develop their aromatic character. Harvest began on 25 September.
Label / history
The name “Melibeo” comes from a character in Virgil’s poems.
