About this wine
Vinification
The wine is made from the ripest, healthiest bunches. After harvest the grapes go straight to the winery so that they stay intact. They are macerated first, then pressed over several hours. Fermentation takes place at a low temperature.
Ageing
The wine ages in stainless steel tanks, kept at the required cool temperature.
Label / history
Santi was founded in 1843, when Attilio Carlo Santi began making the classic wines of Soave, Valpolicella, Recioto, Amarone and Bardolino. Its vineyards lie in the Illasi Valley, surrounded by the Lessini Mountains. The winery owns 70 ha, of which 40 ha are in Valpolicella Classico and the rest in the Bardolino Classico and Soave Classico areas. Sortesele is the estate's flagship Pinot Grigio.
