About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The Serradenari vineyard lies at 480 m above sea level, with a southwesterly exposure. Its sandy-loam soils contain marl and limestone.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand in two passes. Spontaneous alcoholic fermentation takes place in 60 hL conical wooden vats, followed by an extended maceration of approximately 45 days to extract colour and aromas.

Ageing

The wine matures for 30 months in large Austrian oak casks, followed by several more months in bottle to bring the profile into balance. The recommended drinking window is 2027–2037.

Tasting profile

Initially reductive, it needs time and attention to open. The palate is firm and slightly astringent, with an angular, restrained character, pronounced structure and minerality.
