About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from southeast-facing vineyards in the Scansano area of Tuscany, at no more than 80 m above sea level. The soils consist mainly of clay and limestone, and the vines are around eight years old on average.
Grapes
Morellino is the local name for Sangiovese.
Vinification
Fermentation and maceration are brief, lasting 15 days.
Ageing
The wine matures for eight months in steel tanks, followed by two months in bottle.
