About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from Rocca Bernarda, on south-east-facing hillsides at 110–170 m above sea level. The soils consist of marl and sandstone. The vines were planted between 1948 and 1973 at approximately 4,000 plants per hectare and are trained using the Cappuccina system.
Grapes
A blend of Friulano, Malvasia and Ribolla Gialla, conceived around three characteristic white varieties of Friuli.
Tasting profile
Intense yellow with light green reflections. The broad, sweet-toned and spicy aroma combines citrus, almond, walnut husk, exotic fruit, white peach, sage and white pepper, alongside pronounced varietal notes. Powerful and structured on the palate, with good acidity and a harmonious interplay of fruit and spice. Almond and exotic-fruit notes carry through a very persistent finish.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 10–12 °C. Pair with prosciutto crudo, cooked ham, fish dishes, and fresh, rich cheeses.
