About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from selected vineyards that have been cultivated for centuries. Yields are low and much of the vineyard work is done by hand, under strict quality standards. The evening autumn winds from the Mendel Mountains shape the terroir: they bring cool nights and give the grapes distinctive aromas and freshness, and they help the wines age well. The wind blows across the vineyards every day.

Ageing

The wine matures in the cellar with care, in a way tailored to each individual wine.

Tasting profile

Rich aroma with notes of pear and melon. Elegant structure, excellent balance and gentle acidity, with a precise expression of the grape variety.

Label / history

The Fallwind collection is named after the evening autumn winds from the Mendel Mountains. It is made by the cooperative winery St. Michael Eppan, and its wines are meant to express their terroir clearly.
