About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the estate-owned Corone vineyard, situated on the hills of Fumane near Cavalo at 600 metres above sea level. The site has a southeast exposure.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand into 15–20 kg crates, then dried in specially equipped, well-ventilated rooms known as fruttai. This recioto process lasts around 150 days, until the end of February, by which time the grapes have lost up to 45% of their moisture. The bunches are pressed without destemming. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 12–23 °C, with maceration lasting up to 20 days to increase concentration.
Ageing
The wine matures for four months in new French oak barriques. It is bottled without filtration and rests in bottle for a further three months.
Label / history
While working with his father Stefano under the Stefano Accordini name, Tiziano created Corte Alta as his own brand, drawing on his many years of winemaking experience.
