About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
Grenache comes from west-facing vineyards at 150 m a.s.l. in Tenuta Belguardo at Loc. Montebottigli, in the municipality of Grosseto. The loose, sandy soil is dominated by sandstone. The vines are spur-cordon trained at a density of 5,550 plants per hectare.
Grapes
Grenache. The wine is made from dark-skinned Grenache rather than Grenache Blanc. The variety is also known locally as Alicante and is traditionally used for red and rosé wines in Maremma.
Vinification
The grapes were picked by hand from 21 August 2025. Gentle pressing and immediate separation of the juice from the skins allow the red grapes to be vinified as a white wine. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks without skin contact at 17°C.
Technical data
The 2025 has 12.75% alcohol and total acidity of 5.50 g/L. It was bottled in March 2026 and released in April 2026. Production totals 13,000 bottles, all in 750 ml format.
Tasting profile
Crisp and fruit-driven, with white-flower and pink-grapefruit notes. The palate is fresh, mineral and vertical, ending with a delicate citrus character.
Vintage notes
Early budbreak and flowering in 2025 were followed by regular vegetative growth supported by abundant spring rain. Two summer heatwaves—at the end of June and around mid-August—preceded 95 mm of rain in late August, helping the vines recover and the grapes reach full maturity. The fruit showed balanced sugar, acidity and aroma.
Label / history
The first vintage was 2025. Initially conceived as a very pale Grenache rosé, trials in the cellar led instead to white vinification, revealing a fresher and more delicate aromatic expression.
