About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

Vermentino grows in south- to southwest-facing coastal vineyards at 20–50 m a.s.l. at Loc. Montebottigli, in the municipality of Grosseto. The loose, sandy soils are predominantly sandstone. Vines are Guyot trained at a density of 6,600 plants per hectare.

Grapes

Vermentino. The variety is at home near the Tyrrhenian coast and gives a distinctly mineral, saline expression at Belguardo.

Vinification

The 2025 fruit was picked by hand from 27 August and fermented at a low temperature of 15°C.

Technical data

The 2025 has 13.04% alcohol and total acidity of 5.41 g/L. Bottling took place in March 2026, followed by release in April. Production totals 78,000 bottles, available in 750 ml and 1.5 L formats.

Tasting profile

A dry, fresh and juicy Vermentino with aromas of exotic fruit and yellow peach. The palate is mineral, saline and characterful, with marked intensity and freshness.

Serving and pairing

Pair with seafood, vegetable-based pasta and other first courses, soups, grilled fish, fresh cheeses, white meats and grilled vegetables.

Vintage notes

Early budbreak and flowering in 2025 led into steady growth supported by abundant spring rain. Heatwaves at the end of June and around mid-August were followed by 95 mm of rain late in August, aiding vine recovery and balanced ripening. Harvest at Belguardo began in late August, with the Vermentino for this wine picked from 27 August.

Label / history

The first vintage was 2008.
