About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The Primitivo, Negroamaro and Sangiovese come from three of the best vineyards, spread across three regions of Italy.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand, destemmed and gently pressed at the winery. Fermentation and maceration take place at 20–24 °C for 10–15 days.

Ageing

The wine ages for an extended period in 20 hl French oak barrels.

Label / history

The owner of Tinazzi, Gian Andrea Tinazzi, is a great opera lover and wanted a wine worthy of the name "Opera". The idea came to him in 2005 while he was walking through Marsala. He was struck by the grandeur of a local church, whose beauty he felt was comparable to an opera, and imagined a wine that could inspire the same sense of delight. Production is limited to no more than 15,000 bottles a year.
