About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

Villa Fontana lies in the commune of Castelnuovo del Garda, among the gentle morainic hills east of Lake Garda. The vines are Guyot-trained on soils of glacial origin.

Grapes

60% Corvina Veronese, 30% Rondinella and 10% Molinara.

Vinification

Fermentation lasts 12 days in stainless-steel vats at 23 °C, with brief pumping over.

Ageing

The wine matures in stainless steel for about 4 months.

Technical data

Alcohol: 12% vol. Bottle size: 750 ml.

Tasting profile

Bright, transparent ruby red. Delicate fruit aromas evoke cherries, strawberries and raspberries, accompanied by hints of spice. The palate is dry, fresh and balanced, with a persistent savory note and a generous fruity aftertaste.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 12–14 °C. Its food pairings include flavorful first courses such as tortellini, risotto or bean soups, along with white-meat dishes. Traditional Lake Garda matches include freshwater fish such as grilled sardines or eel and tench risotto.

Label / history

Bardolino’s direct, generous style has traditionally made it a favored wine among the fishermen of Lake Garda.
