About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow in the organic “Thea” vineyard in the municipality of Forlì, Romagna. Its clay and sandy soils are covered with pebbles. Planted in 1968, the vines produce very low yields with concentrated character.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand beginning on 4 September. Maceration lasts 12 days at 28–30 °C, followed by malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine ages for nine months in new, medium-toast barriques made from French oak from Allier.
