About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Albana comes from an organic vineyard in Romagna with clay soil. The vines were planted in 1983.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in the first week of September. Vinification takes place in 470 L Georgian qvevri, without added yeast or temperature control. Skin maceration lasts 70–120 days, depending on the vintage.
Ageing
The wine is aged in qvevri.
Tasting profile
The nose is charming. The palate is complex and full-flavoured, with high acidity balanced by sweet fruit and honeyed notes.
Label / history
Annual production does not exceed 2,500 bottles. The Italian Sommelier Association’s regional wine guide awarded the 2016 vintage its highest distinction, “Gold Excellence”.
