About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The estate's vineyards cover 15 ha in Colli Orientali del Friuli and are planted with more than 15 grape varieties.
Vinification
Twenty per cent of the harvested grapes are gently pressed; the juice is settled to remove solid sediment and then fermented. The remaining 80% is dried for four weeks, during which the berries lose approximately 40% of their weight and are affected by Botrytis. The resulting concentrated must ferments in small oak barrels until summer. The two wines are then blended.
Ageing
The blend matures for four months in stainless-steel tanks, followed by a further four to six months in bottle.
Tasting profile
Elegant and complex, with delicate floral and fruit aromas, a silky texture and a refined style.
Label / history
Winemaker Valentino Butussi founded the family estate in 1910. His son Angelo Butussi and four grandchildren continue the family's winemaking tradition.
