About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow in vineyards on marl and sandy soils in northeastern Italy.
Vinification
Between 30% and 40% of the grapes are harvested and dried on wooden racks for about four weeks. The remaining fruit is left on the vines until overripe, darkened and partly dehydrated, increasing its sugar concentration. The prepared bunches are destemmed and crushed, after which the must remains in contact with the skins for at least 24–28 hours at 12 °C.
Ageing
The wine matures in stainless-steel tanks for six months, followed by a further two to four months in bottle.
Tasting profile
Bright golden-amber in hue, with a rich fruit aroma. The palate is elegant, soft and velvety, with a long, lingering finish.
Serving and pairing
Pair with sweet pastries and other desserts, ice cream or juicy fruit.
Label / history
Valentino Butussi founded the family estate in 1910. It now covers about 15 ha and is continued by his son Angelo Butussi and four grandchildren, maintaining winemaking traditions passed down through the generations.
