About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from Velenosi’s own vineyards in Offida and Castel di Lama, situated at 200–250 metres above sea level on clay-limestone soils.
Vinification
Merlot and Syrah are harvested during the first ten days of September, Cabernet Sauvignon in early October and Montepulciano in mid-October. Each variety ferments separately in small steel tanks, with 15–30 days of skin contact.
Ageing
The wine ages for 18–24 months in new 300-litre oak barrels. After blending and bottling, it matures for several more months in the winery’s cellars.
Tasting profile
Fairly full-bodied and intensely fruity.
