About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The Sangiovese grows at approximately 400 m above sea level on Galestro soil. The vines are trained to spur-pruned cordon.

Grapes

100% Sangiovese.

Vinification

Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks with temperature control. Skin maceration lasts 15–20 days.

Ageing

The wine matures for approximately 48 months in Slavonian oak casks averaging about 30 hl, followed by 7–8 months in smaller 7.5 hl casks and at least six months in bottle.

Technical data

Alcohol: 13.5–14.5%. Production is approximately 2,000 bottles.

Tasting profile

Deep ruby red tending towards garnet. The complex, enveloping bouquet recalls ripe red fruit and violet. The palate is substantial, elegant and harmonious, with considerable persistence.

Serving and pairing

Designed for substantial game dishes and long-aged cheeses.
