About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow in the estate’s vineyards in the historic Conegliano Valdobbiadene area, at 120–180 metres above sea level, on iron-rich silty loam soils.
Grapes
The blend contains at least 85% Glera, with up to 15% Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in mid-September. After pressing and a very short maceration, the must is settled. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in large stainless-steel tanks for at least 40 days at a controlled temperature of approximately 15 °C. The second fermentation follows the Italian Charmat method, lasting 45 days at 15 °C in sealed autoclaves. Before bottling, the wine is filtered for brightness and clarity.
Ageing
The wine remains on its lees for at least six months, then rests in the winery’s cellars for at least another two months after bottling.
Tasting profile
Fresh and elegant, with herbal notes, complex citrus character and hints of bread crust developed during the extended time on the lees. The appearance is bright and clear.
Label / history
The cuvée was first released in 2018. Its name, “Long Charmat,” refers to the extended production process.
