Lison
Lison is a white DOCG that crosses a regional border. Its vineyards lie on the plain between the rivers Tagliamento and Livenza, a few kilometres from the Venetian coast, in the provinces of Venice, Treviso and Pordenone — Annone Veneto, Cinto Caomaggiore, Gruaro, Fossalta di Portogruaro, Pramaggiore and Teglio Veneto, Meduna di Livenza, Chions, Cordovado and Pravisdomini in full, and parts of Portogruaro, Caorle, Concordia Sagittaria, Motta di Livenza, Sesto al Reghena and others. It is farmland dotted with old farmhouses, walled villages and small towns full of Roman remains. Continua a leggere ↓

Lison in breve
The grape is Tai, the Veneto name for the variety known in Friuli as Friulano and on labels, until the European ruling that reserved the word for Hungary's Tokaji, as Tocai. The zone is the one drawn in 1971 for the old Tocai di Lison DOC.
The wine must be at least 85 per cent Tai, and the historic core may be labelled Classico. It may not be sold before the first of March after the harvest, and only in traditional glass bottles of up to three litres. Lison became a DOCG in 2010.
