The 2024 Valpolicella DOC comes from Eastern Valpolicella, with south-east aspect and clayey, calcareous soils. The technical sheet lists trellis training.

Grapes and harvest

Corvina Veronese and Rondinella. Manual harvest takes place in the second half of September.

Vinification and ageing

Fermentation takes place in stainless steel at controlled temperature, with the PDF specifying 25-30 deg C for 9 days and frequent pumping over. The wine ages in stainless steel until mid-February and then rests two months in bottle.

Technical data

Vintage 2024. Alcohol is 13.11% vol on the wine page and 12.85% vol in the PDF. Total acidity 5.40-5.60 g/l. Residual sugar 1.5-2.4 g/l. Dry extract 28.1-29.2 g/l. pH 3.34-3.37. Format: 750 ml.

Tasting profile

Bright transparent ruby. The aromatic profile combines spice and morello cherry. The palate is dry, medium-bodied, agile and drinkable.

Vintage notes and pairing

The 2024 harvest showed the importance of hillside vineyards. Mild winter, rainy cool spring, a sudden summer heatwave, careful water management and September temperature variation produced healthy grapes with balanced ripeness. Pairings include Italian appetizers, legume soups, pasta dishes including tomato sauces, and roasted or grilled white meats.
